Just read it on my news page... James Horner, who created all the wonderful music for Avatar and the Na'vi just died in a plane crash with his private airplane

This music brought Pandora to life, did so much for the atmosphere of the movie.
And it's been with me through the very best hours of my life.
I'm sad, very sad only.
May he be with Eywa now

Yes, sadly. Just wanted to post it.
Now, who will compose for Avatar 2, 3...?
Maybe John Williams?

It's really bad news. The really talented often go way too early (and also in weird ways seemingly).

Terrible news. His music certainly helped shape the unique experience that was Avatar. His involvement on other projects also left its mark.

This is very sad. A major blow to the entertainment industry. I'm wondering what JC feels about losing a colleague. JC and JH have worked together before, so it's easy to surmise that they were friends.
Another question, is what is the future for the Avatar sequels?

This is what I found as message on the AVATAR facebook page (not sure at the moment who Jon is)
The Avatar community has lost one of our great creative lights with the passing of James Horner. James’ music was the air under the banshees’ wings, the ancient song of the forest, and the heartbeat of Eywa. We have lost not only a great team-mate and collaborator, but a good friend. James’ music affected the heart because his heart was so big, it infused every cue with deep emotional resonance, whether soaring in majesty through the floating mountains, or crying for the loss of nature’s innocence under bulldozer treads. The beauty and power of Avatar lay not just in the superb performances and the visual splendor, but in the music that made us cry and exult along with our characters.
Irayo, James. Fly brother.

Jon is Jon Landau.
This is such sad news! RIP James Horner, and Irayo nitxan, tsmukan, for giving us such incredibly beautiful music (in Titanic, Avatar, and other films).
