I'm sleeping and still are dead tired. Guess it's the heat.

Morning
It was rather warm yesterday, true, but for me it isn't the heat.
I figured that I am simply not made for this 'modern life' - getting up at 5am, working from 7am, sitting in the darkest corner of the room, far away from the window, light and air for 8 to 9 hours every day, not being able to go out or doing something that makes sense to me, always having to be careful what to say and when, then either grocery shopping, to the bank or other stuff like that or to the garden (because of course no one seems to care that I am just short of falling asleep standing), getting hoe at 5pm to 5:30 pm, preparing dinner for 6 to 6:30 pm, doing some household chores, going to bed at 8 to 8:30 pm, not being able to finish important stuff I have to. All the while being so tired I shouldn't drive a car. My life is already empty as it is, but this way I can't even get a breather and have to act all the time as if I am not constantly in pain and utter desperation. It all feels like one long punishment for something heinous.
I really want to sleep.

Yeah, that's modern life, true. And it makes me grateful that - for all the crappy stuff my company includes - at least I don't have to get up in the middle of the night. Flexible time is something great, especially combined with Home Office. Currently my alarm is set for 7:30. Living against the personal inner clock ain't healthy at all. I'd kick out of your schedule everything that ain't necessary and focus on the things that are important to you. It's what helps me getting along. Grocery shopping is done on the way home, so not much additional time here and I don't go to the bank at all.

Well - theoretically I could start 9am the latest, but that would mean absolutely no time at all left for anything after work, just go home and straight to bed and this is even worse than slowly dying by sleep deprival. I just can't work those 8,5 h days at all. The bad health and low energy I got by defaultdeterioates drastically and I get rather sick by overuse. But when I say this people laugh or snuff and simply state "we have/had to do that too" - in which way exactly does this change my physical facts? I really need to win the lottery or I won't get much older this way. Civilisation is ridiculously stupid and self-destructive, while filled with people who will defend thos traits over their dead bodies. I don't understad the world at all.
I rarely gracery shop - maybe once a week, but I need to go to the bank. Money is an illusion, I know this, but not having something in your hands isn't good and I won't start online banking if you'd held a gun in my face. I just don't want that, I am being observed enough.

Not even using one of those automats? Over here real branch banks are kinda dying, one after the other closes down.
Time schedule: I know, it's always the same decision - get up early and walk through the day like a zombie or get up a bit later and get home late. Personally I've still decided for the latter, mostly because I just
can't get out of bed that early. I just won't wake up. But of course that means that I have to run when I wanna do something with limited opening hours.
I don't mind getting to bed late though, it fits with my natural set-up. I can't sleep before 11:00 p.m. most of the time anyway.

Well my schedule is... crazy. During the school year, I wake up around 7 to take kids to school, come home, sometimes take 60-90 minutes nap, sometimes not. Then I work from 1700 till 0200 with up to one hour break and then go to bed. On Fridays I close at midnight, and on Sunday/monday night I have to be available from 2330 to 0100... From the end of the day Friday till that Monday very early morning I am on call. That means that if no alerts come my way, I am good. If they do come, I have to attend to it. Is it easy and convenient? No. But, it is far worse not having food on the table so I will shut up until something better comes.

Well... We do what we have to do, until we don't have to do it anymore and we are working actively on that (that we don't have to do it).

Afternoon
I come to find all of these simply bad. We are all told we just have to choose between two bad things, when in reality there is always option 3: none of the above, because it sucks.
I wish I had some land so I could self-sustain to a much wider degree (as would be the natural thing to do anyway). The world is crazy.
I do use those automats, but real online banking from home? Nope. It's irritating me how much of the work now has to be done by the 'customer' all the while prices for no longer existing services rise anyway.
I repeat: crazy.
Mo'at was truly right (but as oftne the case I wonder how my people listening actually understood) - this kind of way, this kind of world breeds insanity, nearly invisible to those living inside of it, but very obvious once you take just one step out and have a look.
*shakes head*

Ugh, don't get me started on online-banking. I'm not scared of computers, I'm able to self-learn complex software like Adobe Graphic Suite, and I'm overall open to modern technology. But somewhere in the universe there's someone who decided "No online banking for Kiye." I just can't get it to work, something's always missing. A password, a pin code, you name it... *El Sigh*
I'm using those booking automats in the first room of my bank, they're open 24 hours, only thing you need to do is finding a free parking lot.
I am worried though about people who can't keep up with even that. My mom for example - she's just not up to it, she needs a real person behind a counter. But banks are closing down one shop after the other... :-/

I never tried true online-banking, but I also never felt that this would be a good idea. When it comes to those automats in the hall - there are always at least 1 to 2 missing to really fulfil the demand, which is utterly annoying, but - this is what I think - very deliberate. Just like keeping the old folks from the trade-cycle. It is in Norway? (or maybe sweden - sorry) where electronic buy/sell is so much on the forefront that cash practically doesn't exist anymore - cutting off people who are not able to partake in this for one or the other reason, nearly entirely from 'normal life'.
For the banks, the politicians, the real people in power and the system as a whole this development can't get on fast enough (just remember how articles push the death of cash in the last two years very regularly). There are beta-tests already running - one of them was in Inida where the government decided to de-validate the most used rupia-bill practically overnight, cuasing chaos - especially under the poor and rural population. Things are not looking rosy for the future, but there's a big part of me that really wished ot be able to watch this madness go down (from a safe-enough place and in youth and health - the 1000 years would be a treat to observe).

I'm a bit torn apart on the whole subject. Personally I like to pay a lot of things electronically... but I also still use cash for the small things, like a coffee here or some other small-ish stuff there. And I definitely see the problem with older people who can't keep up.

But it's not just about he elderly, but everyone who likes some private every now and then. I ad to give all my bank statements to the jobcenter often enough to find it grindign that even the smallest thing I bouth would be visible if I hand't the cash opportunity. Every time when people say there no such thing as monitoring and there will be no suhc thing, I just give them that, as it is already happening, they just don't see it, because it isn't happening to them (at least that they know of). Besides: I find it a lot easier to control my spending with cash. A debit cars is easily ehough inserted and the code entered, but to give a bank note away is something a lot more fathomable.
I feel dark time coming - like ten years from now the young folk won't even entertain the thought that life without a chip in their brainstems is a possibility.
Again: I'd like to get many hundred years old (wih very late ageing please) and watch thins come down - even now it's like watchign a large anf fast train derail in slow motion. Maybe I should grab some popcorn.

The only thing that did not happen yet to me is that, if I buy, let's say, pack of chocolate cookies, pay with a card, to receive adverts for chocolate cookies.

About the cash thing: I tried to buy a cheeseburger today. Before me in the line was a woman who tried - in that order - apple pay, Amex and finally a "classic" debit card. To pay two burgers and two helpings of fries for her kids. And was deeply annoyed that the first two methods didn't work at all. And she *still* tried a third method to pay; I have the suspicion she didn't heven have cash along.
Me, I paid my burger with coins right along - took me only a fraction of time she needed *g*
