Well, yes... Anyway, the money involved is not high. The hosting itself costs some $$200 per year, more or less. The domain (and we have two) cost some $12 per domain. The software I would love to buy cost around $160, plus maybe some add-ons, and that is about it. I am into getting one very serious contract and if I succeed, none of that will be a problem. Over the past 3 years, things were tough, very tough. A couple of times, Kiy and DIana assisted me and I am really grateful for that, but not things are improving
As for the adverts, I must agree with Kiy. Last thing I want is a site which has more adverts than the actual content. How about seeking sponsorship of some sort, and show only sponsor's content? Or, do you have any other suggestions?

A sponsorship sounds like a nice idea. We could have some limited advertising content without going all blink-blink-waaaaaaaah. And if we really wanna go bigger we'd need a little bit of money there, just to cover the expenses.

Thanks for the wishes - it's actually healy well (at least the way it is). Itching like hell though. Luckily enough it's not the finger-tip.
Hmm - I have no experience or knowledge about such IT things in any way shape or form, I could merely give my thoughts about interior design.
As we are still not that many people we could (maybe) make short polls or something about stuff like font, colours, allover disign and 'tree-sturcture' so to speak - but that's just a thought. As always the last word is with those in charge.
On another note: bun (fresh and warm for mthe oven) - butter - nutella

Nope, I'm just getting away from that to a really decent one. That's why I'm so happy - no sarcasm or anything involved here. I've been hoping for this to work out for a while now.

Good morning.
Ok, I've done something I've never done before and pre-purchased movie tickets 3 weeks in advance, for Avengers: Endgame. My daughter is a huge Marvel fan, and she wants to see the movie as soon as it comes out to avoid any spoilers and theaters were already selling out. This movie is going to make $100 million before it's even released.
I wonder how soon I can purchase tickets for Avatar 2?

I completely missed that this one's about to appear on the screen so soon.
Avatar Tickets... well... I'll order one as soon as I see a defined date somewhere... on a poster or something. In my local theater. Not a minute before :-P

I was wondering... did they play Avatar with German voiceover, or in the original with subtitles?

German voiceover.
When I joined NB I had to look up the original text cause I'd never heard all the quotes.

I hate voiceovers
SOmeone gets an Oscar for acting (and the voice is a part of it) and someone else thinks they can replicate it well enough in another language? To me, it's like butchering the original piece of art

Actually it's pretty well done in germany. There are voice-actors basically assigned to an actor, so that the viewers will get hte same voice for hte same person as long as possible (same is with TV shows and people notice when things are changed - it was quite some drama when the long-term voice actress for Marge Simpson died and they had to find a new one - people were not happy).
In 99% of the cases those voice actors are doing tremendous jobs (really). This also leads to germans sometimes being completely baffled when they hear the 'original' voice of an actor for the first time - it's more often than not a let down (especially with males, as german voices seemigly are quite deeper in general, resulting in the original voices seem way too high for hte person).
In addition it isn't overly easy to watch movies in the original language here - many people still do have issues understanding english
that good (and some actors mumble horrendously), which would result in them not going to see the movie at all. And subtitles are just uncommon.
But it's not really a bad situation all in all.

I agree with Elyris here, it's really well done, not like someone's just reading the text. There goes a lot of time, effort and brain into doing voiceovers for movies and TV shows. A few rare ones were even made better cause of the voiceovers. I was told that the old show "The Persuaders" with Roger Moore and Tony Curtis was kind of a flop in the US, cause - while meant humorous - it wasn't more than average. But the German writers took the story and put in some really funny stuff, improving the dialogues by far. And the show was really cult over here.

Ha, I can only imagine someone giving a foreign language voice to Sir Antony Hopkins in "The Silence of the Lambs"

That's pretty well done. They even match the acoustics of the room.
Kiy, we watched Avatar at your place in German didn't we? I don't even remember if you had the subtitles on in English or German, since I know all of the lines anyway.

We were just looking at the photos the other day from when we visited Berg Frankenstein.

Actually I don't know about how we watched it anymore - with the bluray you can choose the language and subtitles too.
Frankenstein was cool - too bad the weather was that awful.
