It's a kind of jewelry (maybe a concept art for the battle outfit?). Sometimes it's the goal to look 'impressive'.

I think this concept was based on the name of the planet (you know: Polyphem, the one-eyed giant from the Odysse).

I often wonder how it is possible that Neytiri looks so super fly 90% of all shots and Jake looks like a jerk to the same amount.

Random note: I somehow just can't get myself to like that outfit of hers. That top simply looks too human-like ... in the sense of 'fashionable provoking), which is - I think - mostly due to the lower bands. They're not needed at all, no do the add something to the top. The colours of the feathers are beautiful, but the design ...?

I am in no way a design or fashion expert, but I've had that feeling too about some of the stuff when I work on my customs. When you look at the pictures you think, "why is it like that" but then when I actually make it on the figure it makes sense because I can see and get a better sense for its functionality.

And the subject of this one the two bottom straps are there to give the top stability on her body. They go down and attach in the back to a main strap or something along with the two going over her shoulders. That way if she leans over or anything the feathers remain in place.

I know, I know. Still I have this "It looks like leather-and-chain lingerie" feeling about it when I see it. Weird, I know.

I guess I simply wouldn't wear something like that (if I were there, of course - I'll surely never wear something like that in this life).

The Na'vi definitely have some interesting attire. Especially the horse clan and the Hiyik's clan.

Usually you can see where it came from.

Always makes me wish our current 'civilized' clothing would be a little more like that - versatile, reflecting regional chracteristics as well as individual taste, practical as well as decorative and worked along the resources and demands of the environment. But we?

What has astonished me from the very first time I saw Avatar is the extraordinary level of detail !! Every tiny thing is finished and correct. The hair is different from person to person as are the outfits, ornaments, expressions and movements. One of the reasons I saw this movie an obscene number of times in the theater and have watched it hundreds of times since. I constantly see new background detail, nuances of characters, little things that were overlooked in other viewings. Seeing all these HD pics reminds me of that.

I don't mind waiting a couple of years for them to achieve this extraordinary level of detail. But I do wish they would hurry up with it.

I was thinking about tens of thousands of work hours required to make it all.

2. Click on MY ALBUMS
3. Click on CREATE / ORDER MY Albums
4. Now create one or more albums
5. Once you are ready, in the list of albums, to the right side of the album name you have UPLOAD icon. Use it.
