Morning.

I'm glad you asked what a con car is, Elyris. I would have just assumed it was a German slang for kitchen cupboards.

Got a hole in our car's exhaust pipe, so our Toyota Prius is louder than usual. My son says it finally sounds like a real car now. :oh:

ROFL.... :muhaha: :muhaha: :muhaha:
Nope - "con car" is just my 20 years old Golf that I'm using when I drive to my LARP conventions. When I switched to the Beetle I kept that one, just switched to the cheapest available insurance police.
The Golf is old, but it got a lot more space for my assorted stuff (tent, bed, sunsail, costumes, weapons, chair, table, decorations... you name it, I usually have more stuff along for a weekend tent Con(vention) than for a three week vacation), plus most areas have rather rough terrain and I refuse to drive with my good new car there.

Morning

O.O

Yet-set-life right there. Two cars and hideout-weekends. You should tracemark this.

Once again it occours to me that there is next to nothing which I could have fun with around here. This whole county is like a blank space.

Morning.

The "con car". :muhaha: Good thinking.

Yay it's Friday!!

It's also visit the accountant day to file our tax returns. :ouch:
I'm taking the kids to see Avengers: Endgame this afternoon. My daughter is a huge Marvel fan and wanted to see the movie before she sees too many spoilers online. Then this weekend Ato and I are off to London, Ontario for a horror film festival where a feature film that we did the prosthetic makeup effects for the main demon character is having it's premier screening. Gonna be a fun weekend. :yay:

Morning :)

Well, that second car is old and didn't cost me any additional money. It was either keep it or trash it and have to rent a car everytime I head out. I did some calculation and found out - keeping the old car would cost less money in the end. Rented cars are really expensive, especially when you need extended insurance. And I would, considering some of the roads I'm driving. LARP conventions usually are in the middle of nowhere and the areas tend to have something they call roads, but consist mostly of holes and bumps :( Plus, for example for the one big event in August I'd have to rent the car for a whole week, but would only be using it for like two days, the rest of the time it's parked somewhere... wouldn't make much sense.

@Elyris: those events I'm going to include a lot of driving either... it's not as if there are any right around the corner. And contact with the people there for the most part happens online, so it's not limited to a certain region.

Avengers: Aw, I'd like to see that one too, I just can't sit that long yet. Three full hours... ouch, my poor bum :oh:

First I thought you meant London as in London. But oh well (seriously how about a liiiitle creativity ? >_> )

Eh - I need to catch up on two dozen or so movies to be able to understand half of it.

I surely want ot watch Godzilla later though.

On another note: despite tons of work I decided to take Monday and Tuesday off - so I have 5 full days of enough sleep (I surely do need it).

Yeah, that's the one good thing at my extended sick leave... for the first time in years I'm rid of those dark bags under my eyes...

Lack of sleep is a method of torture not for nothing.

'Morning

I'm enjoying reading some of the comments on the articles about Avengers: Endgame making $1.2 billion dollars in just 5 days where some people are saying "But it will never beat Avatar!" :hee:

(Even if Endgame does beat Avatar for highest grossing movie of all time, it will only hold the record until next December anyway) ;)

Huh... well, there are movies out there who are supposed to be "cult" or something and I haven't even seen them yet.

A lot of people's brains can process only simplified, distilled and condensed information... like "reality" staged shows and such crap. It is quite sadening.

Morning

Mostly it's complaining about "This is a white man saves savages story - old, boring , politically incorrect", "Uhhuhh nature is magical and saves itself - such nonsense" .... maybe they missed the point there.

But I came to realize that I actually might be the only person in my surroundings that thinks further than to her own apartment-door. People are becoming more weirdly conservative and social-darwinistic by the day and they don't reailize it as none of them ever reflects on what they say and none of them dares to follow the theard of argumentative logic they just started. They always get annoyed and angry when you even try to hint at the what would this logic end up in. Serioulsy? You know what - if someone decides to be a chauvinistic (which includes racist, sexist, nationalist, classist) greedy tximhole with a narcicisstic streak ... go on, it's your life btu at leat be honest about that, at least have the clarity that you are stop lying to yourself and others.

I feel very alone.
