I really wish I could share the numbing pain of dipression with everyone - at least for a while. They could learn something.

And then are still people who deny that climate is indeed changeing and we are in no way shape or form in deep goo. Astonishing how crazy inflexible human civilisation is.

Well, closing our eyes on things we don't wanna see, that's something we humans are really good at.

Nawm! :omgg: :huh:

@Kiy: Eh - it's so boiling hot out there that even that isn't the best of ideas. Plus: Everything is jam packed full of tourists (so only the very late and very early hours of a day are actually good for going to the beach). Plus plus: Cyanobacteria. We got ourselves in a kind of a mess due to unusually high water temperatures. Officialy warnings have been put out. Lubmin is therefore a nono to me (family-intern intel said 'It's frickin' dirty.') so Usedom it would have to be and that's a significantly longer drive and needs more planning 'n stuff.

How's weather with you?

I heard of scorching heat everywhere and already dozenz of deaths in Quebec.

Also: 500km north of the arctic circle they've measured 25°C - as the low temperature after the night. 51,6°C have been reported from the algerian Sahara. Eatern Siberia is about 20°C hotter than average maximum and in capetown water use is still restricted to 50l per day and person (remember kids: only one toilet flush per day).

I forgot that of course the beaches are stuffed now with everyone having vacation... too bad.

Dozens of deaths in Quebec, Canada? Or is there another Quebec? I guess I should watch the news more. It's been pretty hot & humid (36C), except for a couple of big thunderstorms today that soaked everything (the rain was well needed) and brought the temperature way back down. It's about 24C now but that will change when the sun comes back up.

Saw a news report about the pollution in China and everyone was wearing masks just like in the earth scenes in Avatar.

@Nawm: https://globalnews.ca/news/4338998/heat ... -montreal/

https://edition.cnn.com/2018/07/10/amer ... index.html

They got severe problems for many years now. I remember the dicussions about the air pollution when the marathon of the olympics was up and that was 10 years ago.

I repeat: human civilization is astonishingly inflexible. We knew. For years, decades even. But no one wanted to do something - it would've influenced the career negatively. Well - good for them then, I guess. It doesn't matter what happens to everyone else anyway, right? And people still think either that there is no problem (way too many americans), you won't be able to do anything anyway, so why even bother (my grandparents) or that 'lifestyle chancges' - without realy susstantial changes to the overall systen - will be the thing (way too many vegans). And of course those that claim 'overpopulation' the source of anything uneasy happening in their lives (once saw someone write "Every child that starves is one child too much borne." - thatnks buddy), completely neglecting the fact that the regions they are claiming have too many births per person are exactly the regions that use up the (way) smaller part of pretty muahc anything. Plus: that is not really the problem. The basic underlying way of (western) civilized life and the way of how we see ourselves and our surroundings. We could be half the earths population over ngiht and next to nothing would change. But why think about that? You only would't be as playfully happily proud about your new SUV then - and that wouldn't be nice, so ....

This world truly sucks for practically everyone - even those that would claim it doesn't count for them.
